Tips for Field Dressing
Mammals
Rugs and Life-size start cut at back edge of pad
Game head make opening cuts allowing plenty of excess skin behind shoulders and brisket.
NEVER CUT THE HIDE IN THROAT AREA.
Keep hides dry and cool or freeze if it can not be delivered promptly.
DO NOT SALT.
Birds
Inspect birds for broken wing feathers, damage of the head/beak, as only specimen excellent condition make nice finished mounts. Keep blood off of feathers. Keep dry and cool or freeze and place in plastic bag with wings tucked in
DO NOT CLEAN SMALL BIRDS.
FISH
DO NOT CLEAN FISH
Fold back fins, wrap in plastic and freeze
